The Rolling Milestone Poem by tochukwu nwankpa

The Rolling Milestone

In our quest for fame
We loose sight of how we came
Though we were formerly lame
And looking for who to blame
Problems became solutions
And creativity came by intuition

Men persevered to be preserved
The milestone of conquerors
Heroes past and present
Came in sacrifice and burnt offerings
We are bound by unseen forces
We try to ignore all losses
Because we believe it will roll

Shall we bask with mediocres
Who die to rotten as carcass
Eaten by vultures and cultures
We believe we will survive
Because this milestone rolls
