My Goodbye Poem by Rowlin Van Wyk

My Goodbye

Look at us now
distant as could be
No words left to explain.
No feelings could express
how it came to an end

How hard it is
to accept the truth
a painful sword, a bitter pill
All that is left
is to say goodbye

Bye-bye, is all I could say
as I watched you walk away with tears in my eyes.
Tears-tears rolling down my cheek
like an endless river that has no end
like the sky without a limit
is it hard to face the truth
that the last time has drawn to an end.

My goodbye has been said
no hard feelings though
I wish you just the best,
because you were the bigger picture.
Oh, I hope time would not stand still,
that it will just fly by fast
Faster than the wind
so that the healing of all the hurt could pass me.

All I wanted
was for you to say you love me
like it was the last time.
Now, only now
do I know what the last love feels like.
Trust me!
It ain't no joy.

The thought of loosing you
were sometimes on my mind.
Never did I knew it will feel like this.
The truth in loosing you
I could never have imagined.

Oh, well...

It has been said
My heart, you have broken and not even a broken mirror could compare to the pieces left on the gound.

Maybe it is for the best, but enough has been said.
It has been the last time.
The last love hurt me
but trust me
my goodbye is sincere.
All the best to you and with all that...
Is this my goodbye.
