My Friends Poem by Sharon Wiseman

My Friends

My friends sit all around me
As I sip my cup of tea
The music in the background
Plays a familiar melody I look at each face separately
Wondering what each one would say
What would the conversation be
If they could have their say Men, women, and children too
Surround me on all sides
I'm happy for the company
That all my friends provide It's time to leave my friends behind
As I go through the door the hall
Walking away I look back with a pause
Saying goodnight to the pictures on the wall
