My Friend And Hero Poem by Shelley Williams

I call her 'Best friend'
and she stands rather strong.
She's been through a lot
on days that go wrong.

I see how she responds
to a struggle or trial.
She cries as a result
but she has not lost her smile.

She handles life well
and she has not run away.
She has not given up
no matter the day.

Her kids are happy
and she meets every need.
she takes care of others
with love and good deed.

She talks well with family
and hears what they say.
She reaches out to people
that they be okay.

'Hero' is not just a word
to this person I know.
She is first to forgive
that a fight do not grow.

An example I admire
when life brings surprise.
She is a real friend
and there is no disguise.
