My Fossil Friend Poem by Paul Klobusicky

My Fossil Friend

A fossil in its day
Retains a special value
Yet a fossil's value
Takes years to accumulate

Once a fossil is found
It may become a relic
And its value becomes more precious
However it's over time
That measures the true meaning of friendship

Our friendship has come to an end...
As witnesses of our friendship
My Fossil Friend

It doesn't matter how we got to this point....
Like the tango it takes two
To last to the end
My fossil friend

Our pride and selflessness
Won't mend our differences
We had a hoot
Throughout our lives
Not now my friend
We finally reached the end
My fossil friend

Only memories will remain
Even they will fade
And in the end
All that remains
Is that we were friends
My Fossil friend
