My Fight Poem by Tammy Nicholls

My Fight

This news I've received has shattered my life
My hearts been sliced, my health is the knife
Inside I'm not well, emotions are raw
The pain that I'm in, forever I'm sore

Now I do know my fight will begin
I will not let go, I won't let you win
I know that I'm sick but my will is so strong
I'll fight for my life no matter how long

You will take my strength, but never my mind
That's hidden away for you not to find
It's all I have left, the true meaning of me
My mind is my haven where I can be free.
