My Daughter Poem by Janie Wassler

My Daughter

I see my little girl's eyes dance like the leaves
Clad in sweater and jeans
Her hair wild and blowing in the breeze
And fall is my favorite season

I see my little girl's red cheeks and nose
Clad in parka and hood
Against a backdrop of new fallen snow
And winter is my favorite season

I see my little girl's smile light up like the sun
Clad in shorts and t-shirt
running free with a kite trailing in the distance
And spring is my favorite season

I see my little girl's feet naked and tan
Clad in a yellow bathing suit
Amidst splashes and giggles from the shallow pool
And, oh yes, summer too, is my favorite season...
