My Dad Poem by Johnjoe o Sullivan

My Dad

What a childhood I had with the man I called Dad
Greatest of memories together we had
Fondest of times we were never apart
Forever I will hold them close to my heart
I look at life through a different light
Everything he told me so true and so right
He told he loved and be there for me
Genuine, honest beautiful to see
Feelings were mutual little was said
We both knew what was inside each other's head

A beautiful man, with a beautiful mind
Articulate, handsome and so incredibly kind
He will always be with me and always be mine
The two of us together for such a long time
Life is a journey that must come to an end
But for me it was heaven sent
I know you are looking down from above
But it won't be long until I'm with you my love

A simple man with simple beliefs
Prayers were always one of his needs
Health and happiness were your wealth he'd say
Not the size of anyone's pay
He gave his life to people in need
In him not an ounce of greed
In me sowed a special seed
Look out for those most in need
Thank you God for giving to me
The beautiful man that I loved to see
Dad if your listening remember one thing
I will think of you always through thick and thin
