My Commander Poem by swathi s babu

My Commander

My commander

When the dawn breaks in
The suns rays come peeping into my eyes
The distant song of the cuckoo
Comes sneaking into my heart
Giving out the call to wake
But even the melody of the cuckoo
Cannot command me
But only my little sister can
As I walk through the green patch
Outside my house
The dew drops tickle my toes and thus commands me
Smile, be fresh, and be live
But the grasses can't what only my sister can
At the evening, when the sun sets down
Deep under the sea, to its unknown castle
As the night draws the dark curtain
The stars, the moon
And all the creatures of the night
Command me it's time to sleep
No miracles of nature or God
Can command me
But she can
She is my little sister
With her sweetest smile and innocent heart
If she commands me to wake up, I will
If she commands me to die, I will
She is my only commander
She is my little sister
