My Cold, Cold Heart Poem by Phoenix1 Smith

My Cold, Cold Heart

I sat on a bench
to feel the cold dew
this early morn
the freezing wind
need to blow this
loneliness I feel inside
my cold, cold heart

the slowly rising sun
promises like a warm
embrace to feel
but neither the beauty
of this garden that
engulfs me can make
this sorrow die away

desolation and gloom
surrounds the very essence
of my entire being
to the very core
of my heart and soul..
