My Canadian Chronicles 22 Poem by David Harris

My Canadian Chronicles 22

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes we go to places
to meet strangers
whom have come into our lives
never knowing what we might find.
We are moved by their kindness
and their giving up their time
to take us here and there
wondering all the time
how we can repay their generosity.
We can give them our friendship,
but never feeling that is enough.
We can only offer what we can give
which in our case is not much
always hoping one day
we can treat them to the world.
Forever we will link hands
across the oceans wide
hoping all the time they will visit us
and we can extend the same generosity
that they have shown to us.

friends do not measure generosity in material things

I'm sure many people suffer the same concern reviewing the scales of their relationships. My belief is that giving and receiving are one and the same. You receive from one person and give to another. It doesn't need to be a direct connection. You see there is an interconnectedness between all of us, and our behavior (both good and bad) affects the collective as well as the individual connection between us. The compassion is what matters. Lovely piece. Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
