My Butterfly Poem by Richard Noggin

My Butterfly

Wild thing that longs to be free
Fly away and spread your wings
Feel the flight of your imagination
See the world from a new perspective
How ignorant it was for me to hold you captive
How foolish it was of me to take your beauty for granted.
I held you captive for my own security
So that I could experience you warmth and love
And never really share in return
So fly away my butterfly
And I will remember you with passionate
Memories.
