My Brother In Iraq Poem by Dean Simpson

My Brother In Iraq

Many a time Ive heard on the news
Names of the fallen soliders.
My heart stops, adrenaline flows
I pray to god its not your name i hear.

I count the days down, till your out and about
With me and the lads
Enjoying the free time you have left
Until they call you back

Time with you is special to me now
More than ever before.
I knew at an age so young
Now look at us now...

Two grown men, both living life
Im living easy, waiting for jobs
Whereas for you
Your life could change

With the shot of a gun, and the hit of the bullet...

Pray God be with you,
My brother in Iraq...

In dedication to My brother, Fuselier Harrison Barber...
