My Appreciation Poem by Felix Emeka George

Today I am reminded of a gesture that changed my life

Nwachukwu Ugo Chibuzor, a special person to me.
Humble and rich with a simple attitude covertly undisclosed.
Your cheerfulness while you give.
Like a shooting star as swift as ever
Illuminating all like the moon
Which disguise you from others.

Never in my life did I think I would
Make my way through.
As I ran into you that day
I began believing miracles happen,
for those who believe the impossible.

Indigent,
I was on all fours groping in the dark.
At school, I needed ten thousands naira
To make the least impact and
I had no idea where to find five thousand naira
I lamented and wept to a friend hearing,
I remember he told you, and we all left
In your car, you promised me the fees.
You further asked more questions,
Do you have a shelter, food and other needs?
I don't was my response.
You assured me
smiling at me, saying
I can't afford a whole apartment
But be assured I will contribute if you get a roommate to share.
Everything will be alrght
I will provide for your daily needs.

I knew then that you are special person to me
Sent by God for my good
My heart cherished heart curiousily,
A true friend whose display of love.
And love affirmation,
Your kindness embellishment of precious love.

About a week later,
I got an alert on my cellphone
I knew then you were indeed
Ekwueme,
A true brother, friend and ultimate mate
And I owe to you.
all of my five years in school,
I sleept and woke prayed and blessed to have
Because you made to known in my battle I wasnt alone,
Five years of sincerity
Five years of unbroken promises
And when my parents disappeared from the surface of earth
For an intervals of Twelve months,
You gave me what it took to bury them to mother earth.
You are a true friend,
one who cared enough to reach across to catch me.
You calmed my nervousness and
I became centred enough to get a grip of my thoughts and then my acts.
I pulled through.

You a true friend whose love
Stayed in the light, radiated,
My strength in sadness fear and depression
I have nothing to pay you back.
From my heart of real peace! I said
You a kind, loving, good heart,
Accompanied with spirit of cares for every who came around
I thank the day I meet you

Your aid and your pains are
Recorded in everyday
I turn the pages to read less.... My appreciation
