Music Poem by Karl Newton

Music

Rating: 4.4

A relationship
Of intimacy
My oldest and dearest friend
One on which I've always been able
To depend
A loyal and trusting friend
At times I needed one most
At times of joy
And times of despair
The friend in questions
Always there
Giving my feelings and emotions
A voice
Relief
Comfort
And joy
Watched me grow since a boy
Into a man
A friend I know will always be there
Depend on it
I can
Music
So pure and sweet
Music
My heavenly retreat

A very sincere and moving poem about true felt love for music. A closeness and feeling that some arts do represent for some very sensitive people. A joy to read!

Music is so much more to you than just NOISE or merely SOUNDS like blaring radio music. You describe music on personal terms as a companion, a friend, a trusted friend. Your poem is long and detailed so that we are convinced of the truth of what you say. What I take from your poem is your relationship with music. It's inspiring. You rescue music from being than an overload of noise and show it has a life of its own, it shares with those who listen sympathetically.
