Mum I Know You'Re Home Poem by Andrew Vassell

Mum I Know You'Re Home

The phone ring with
a distinct tone, the
light will flicker then
shines very low. Mum
are you calling me or
reaching for me, just
letting me know, you're
not asleep?

Do you try to say no
when decision ain't
right or I'm I just
dreaming or going
out of my mind? Do
you ever smile looking
down at me, wondering
how I'm doing or is it
a vision to me?

Do you ever get
lonely or living that
dream, the peace
you read, being by
God's feet? Are
you an angel wearing
pearly white and do
you often come to
see us through an
invisible sight?
