Mum Poem by Patricia McNulty

Mum

I didn't want to lose you Mum,
But I couldn't keep you here
Evelyn you were wonderful.
Evelyn you were great,
Evelyn I couldn't have wished for a better Mother and mate.

And now that you have left me,
I feel so much alone,
I really need to see you smile,
I really need to see you laugh,
I need you more than ever Mum, now that you have gone.

If only I have told you, just before you died,
How much I loved and cared for you, I still would have cried,
But the pain would not be half as bad, As it's feelings right now,
Because I've lost a good mother, a good mother in you.

Evelyn, I feel heavy, Evelyn I feel blue,
Because I'm so alone, and really missing you.
