Move On Poem by Paul Butters

Move On

So what do you do when your woman leaves you?
Or your man?
Move on!
We lost George and John,
Brian, Dave (Ralph) , Ken, Trevor, Bob, Gordon and Dickie.
Move on.
We were made redundant or retired.
Move on.
Our achievements are well celebrated.
Move on.
I will write this verse then...
Move on.
Don't hanker for the past.
Move on.
Don't meditate The Purpose.
Move on.
Don't flog a dead horse.
Move on.
Denial never works.
Move on.
The message of this piece:
Move on.
