Motherless Child Part 1 Poem by Harlequin Rose

Motherless Child Part 1

Beloveds
now I know that I know nothing
all it took was burning parchment
and a moonlit ocean
drained dry
and lapping at my ankles tirelessly
Beloveds
walk with me a moment
look at my palms
do you see my prophecy
my lost one
do you see my bruises
Oh, my beloveds
i gave birth to these mountains
and this desert
and these salty wind tossed seas
I made them my companions
but they have let me down
and it weighs heavy on my heart
But my beloveds
I admit to neglecting the sunrise
though I gave it all that I could give
but a love like that won't last
for this is my earth
and I am her gypsy
her rolling stone
and sometimes I feel like a motherless child
a long long way from home.
