Mother Teresa Poem by Kashmeera Sambamurthy

Mother Teresa

Rating: 3.5

O Mother! The Epitome of Compassion,
When the World slept,
\you sheltered the poor.
When the World dined,
You fed the poor with your hands.

O Mother! A package of Empathy,
When the World laughed,
You wiped the tears of the poor.
When the World was preoccupied,
You made the sad faces smile.

O Mother! A deity of Love,
When the minds of the World were littered,
You strived to beautify a poor's life.
When the World shirked from Giving,
You were never tired of giving enough.

O Mother! A sea of Wisdom,
When the fanatics criticized you,
You prayed for their well being.
When the faith of the poor dwindled,
You rekindled hope within them.

O Mother! A basket of Understanding,
When the World resorted to Selfishness,
You preached to do Good anyway,
When the World embraced Jealousy,
You lectured to be good anyway.
When the World shook hands with Falsehood,
You advised to behave good anyway.

Because you strongly believed,
It is always between 'You and God',
And never between the 'World and You' anyway.
