Mother Moon (Poem For Aja Nabha Varsha)

Mother Moon, do you remember your child
That legacy of a most civilized wild
Fertile womb revolving, orbited by nurturing breasts
Lost upon her unseen side her secrets there are kept
Streaming down the most apelike love
Far too penetrating to be from some distant above
Who broke your teeth & gouged your eyes
Who, Mother Moon, ravaged you just to hear your cries
Binds & tears between your childbearing thighs
Between all the lost & forgot untouched lives
Mother Moon, Father Gandhi-gi, is dead
Mommy, I've forgot the words my daddy said
Mother Moon, the Smiling Buddha pronounced you dead
And So, these strangers lay your children to bed
