Morning After Snow Storm Thor Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

Today is March the sixth.

Outside, morning sunshine welcomes a new day.

Everywhere, accumulated snow is very thick

Snow storm of several days just stopped.

Yesterday, snow fell the whole day

Schools were closed, much less car and people traveled on roads.

This morning, warm temperature is rising

Loose snow randomly fell from small and big boughs.

Sky is high and clear with a light blue color

Glittering surface of melting snow reflects bright sunshine.

Extended long pine branches bend down under windless sky

On top of a tall tree, a hawk is watching attentively for its prey

Suddenly, a group of crows touch down on this same tree.

After these crows take off, the same hawk remains watching.

BUỔI SÁNG SAU BÃO TUYẾT THOR


Hôm nay, mồng sáu tháng ba

Ngoài kia, trời nắng mừng ngày mới sang.

Khắp nơi tuyết trắng rất dầy

Mùa đông bão tuyết mấy ngày đã qua.

Hôm qua, tuyết xuống cả ngày

Trường thì đóng cửa; đường thưa xe, người.

Sáng nay, trời nắng ấm hơn

Cành cây tuyết đậu đang rơi tình cờ.

Bầu trời cao sáng xanh lơ

Tuyết tan mặt láng, nắng trời hắt lên.

Cành thông không gió nằm nghiêng.

Ngọn cao, chăm chắm diều hâu rình mồi.

Rủ nhau, quạ đáp tình cờ

Qụa bay đi mất, vẫn ngồi diều hâu.
