Moppet Poem by gitaanjali naidu

Moppet

It was a lovely Friday, in the month of August,
when the birds where settling down,
in the twilight of the day,
a babe blossomed with a pleasant smile.
The world welcomed her with its open arms,
she’s lively, chirpy and blissful,
What more can be said, ‘She’s simply beautiful’.

She’s an aurora, an apple of everyone’s eyes,
Day-by-day she grows,
as a charming moppet.
Her face blooms like a sunflower,
and voice rings like a temple bell.
Her words flow like a birdsong,
she’s so….. sweet, pleasant and humble,
What more can be said, ‘She’s simply wonderful’.

She turns around, crawls and walks,
Moseying with little strides, balancing her tiny toes.
Dancing and frolicking to and fro,
bemused amongst the array of toys,
innovating new games and applauding herself;
brimming with smile for others to join.
What more can be said, ‘she is simply bountiful’.

Pray, she grows into a beautiful darling,
come of age and advance her goals.
Holding onto the galloping time and rule,
everyone’s heart with the innocence of her eyes.
Let all the hurdles trip away,
and the providence shall be with her,
succeed in all her endeavors,
what more can be said, ‘she is all here to excel.’
