Monster: Love Poem by Shirley K.W. Ka

Monster: Love

My Love for you is a Monster
That feeds on my Flesh and Soul;
It appears in the darkest hours,
to Tear,
Torment,
and Take control.
Each time it bites me, it takes home a souvenir.
Each time it comes to bite me,
I lose some parts, my Dear.
It has no mercy when it devours,
Tears...rips me as it pleases,
Treating me like a toy.
No matter where I dropp and land,
it leaves me torn with leaks,
Staining,
the ground I stand.
I built up strong defenses; Solid Concrete Walls,
but it doesn't seem to block my ears
from it's horrid hungry calls.
I thought I'd be safe behind these walls,
I dared not once look back.
But when I slowly tried, to walk away,
Something taps me on my back...
...I turn around in shock and fear,
to see a neatly crumbled wall;
with the Monster standing next to it,
blowing dust off it’s Finger Tip.
Standing speechless in despair,
I simply let it rip and tear,
Wishing:
that it would transform back,
Change it back into the Angel
Who showed me Heaven’s gates,
OR,
that someone would KILL this Monster,
This Monster I truly Hate.
