Monkey See, Monkey Do Poem by Leslie Alexis

Monkey See, Monkey Do

I'll pretend to be unhappy
So that you'll be happy
I'll join you in your pity
And bask in sorrow's beauty.

Blue shall represent my blues
and not heaven's choice color
Green shall be some yucky goo
and not the hand of the flower.

Red shall be the bloody death
I wish for each day I rise
I'll join you in the curse of Macbeth
To be pleasing in your eyes.
