Modern Schooling Poem by Xelam Kan™

Modern Schooling

A voyage from the womb of 'darkness;
they say
into the world of dazzling lights,
but often see its glare robs
sight and insight, and
yields nothing but
yawning and envy.

Like Frankenstein's illusion-
who dint know how,
to spend or live this life?
so employed an unending strife,
and his mind's sterility led him
to a stark bestiality.

And bethink!
we are born ignorant not stupid
but 'this' turns us the latter.
but who cares...

An absolute verbal beauty of verse that speaks high of the rich diction and dexterity of the poet. The poem is a pleasant and obviously rare deviation from your usual writes. Once Bri Edwards has commented so comprehensively I think there is no need for a comment from my side.

now john, how am i to believe that the same john who writes sometimes like a 'foreigner is the same john who wrote this probably-stunning poem? ? ? ? ? i say probably as i am no expert concerning stunning poems, except MINE, of course. and 'this' refers to Modern schooling? i suppose; what else would it be talking about! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - i'd like to be inside your mind long enough to know why you used envy in the following portion of the poem: its glare robs sight and insight too, and yields nothing but yawning and envy. ................it SOUNDS pretty intelligent, john. ;) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Frankenstein's illusion- who dint know: how to spend or live this life? ........ ............. this is VERY NICE! one of my favorite movie characters....the illusion that is. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - And bethink! we are born ignorant not stupid but 'this' turns us the latter. ah! who cares... now i wonder if you DO care, or NOT. i think you do. i don't know if i do. it is time for supper now anyway. could any poem be more important than my meal? ? ? prosody? okay i guess. i liked it enough to send to MyPoemList, sir. :) bri thanks for sharing.
