Misery Girl Poem by Alice Yelinsky

Misery Girl

She feels so empty
Her world is cruel and lonely
She feels her legs shaking
She is breaking

I feel your pain pouring down on me
I watch you suffer from this reality
I hold you because you don't know what to do
But I can't help you

He is depressed and confused
He is constantly feeling used
He's frightened and can't sleep
He has an appointment to keep

I feel your misery flow through me
I hold your hand as you wish for comfort
You feel misplaced and askew
But I can't help you

She is breaking
She feels her legs shaking
Her world is cruel and lonely
I can't help you and I'm sorry

He waits. She breaks...
