In the past I was looking in the mirror
I saw in the eyes of a stranger denial, hope, and fear
Is this true what I see?
Is this person really me?

Living life as programmed as the rest
Not reaching my potential
Not being my best

Falling into many traps
not living the life I should live
I had so much more to offer
so much more to give

I learned some of lifes lessons
and not the easy way
I held my head up high
And made it through each day

As time went on I regained sight
no longer blind I could see
I found out who I am inside
and let myself just be

Now there is no confusion
I am happy that is clear
ahh to really love what I see
when looking in the mirror
