Miracle, Where Art Thou? Poem by Saskia Harjono

Miracle, Where Art Thou?

The world in peace, welcoming the dusk in serenity,
yet the feeling within is up-roaring in tranquility,
blasting in silence, thrusting like a blunt blade with no sympathy.

Having left the highway of certainty,
trespassing the banister to the path of ambiguity,
trailing the warm kisses done so tenderly,
aching for the novel definition of devotion and fidelity.

Enchanted by amazement, lured by fascination,
yielding to the familiar figure I know by heart,
and consciously walking to your embracing passion,
surrendering willingly to your mesmerizing persona.

Yearning, and aching for the love of you,
embracing the hidden trail of reality,
where right and wrong is blurred and hazy.

I’m waiting for a miracle to happen,
to bewilder my confusion and pain,
and amend it to having the privilege,
to meet your pace, ceaselessly be indulged,
being rightfully plausible to walk freely,
to be blissful in your embrace – eventually.
