Midnight Shadows (Finished) Poem by Matthew Moser

Midnight Shadows (Finished)

Rating: 5.0

Upon sad sands of midnights dreary light,

Fell shadows that like memories blight,

Fade into the background of yesterdays.

For like shadows, memories fade.

Upon mountains gleaming tops

Shadows grew from the old gray rock,

And the rain errodes away,

For mountains, will like shadows, decay.

In the black bird's flight,

Shadows fall from days bright light,

Falling upon the ground,

While flying wings go round and round.

Shadows darken as night draws neigh,

Fall upon your gazing eye,

Dark enough for you to see.

Shadows are like you and me.

Fading,
decaying,
falling down.

And like the black birds shadow.

We too go round and round.
