Midnight Prank



I looked at the clock to check the time,
I was sure I'd heard my doorbell chime.
There was a snapping sound from my letter box,
So I rushed downstairs without my socks.
I didn't bother to turn on the light,
And stepped on something not quite right.
At first I kind of froze,
It felt warm and sticky on my toes.
When it moved I turned on the light,
And was met with a horrific sight.
There were large black slugs crawling everywhere,
And one hung off my foot in the air.
A note from my friend lay upon the floor,
For him it was a prank, but for me it was war...
