Middle Schooler Poem by Jade chiKahn

Middle Schooler

In between the elementary and the high
We sit back in our seats and sigh
Back and forth between each class each day
Waiting for the lessons to end
Adolescents stalking the place
Learning and growing for the next 3 years
Science, math, and history thrown in our faces
They expect us to keep up
The same boring lunches
The same old friends
Memorize your combination
Your student I.D. number
Your vocabulary words for our next quiz
We walk to the right
Even though we don't feel like it
We recite the Plege of Alliegance
Even though we don't know why
We watch the clock and listen for the bell
Can't wait 'til 2: 50, so we can be dismissed
A fight breaks out, you either watch or run
A fire drill in two hours
Singe file, out the double doors
Raise your hand if you want something
Or else keep your mouth shut if you don't
#2 pencil, sharpened, ready to go
We are the middle schoolers
This is how our day goes
