Merry Vague-Mas? Poem by Dan Reynolds

Merry Vague-Mas?

Merry Vague-mas?

Remember, when the shooting stars were rife?
Their wishes would stampede our winter skies
That apex of our innocence in life
Before adulthood, pried open our eyes.

That magic should be felt by everyone.
That hope may kindle futures worth the wait
As Crowded House refrain their Distant Sun
Let's blow the hinges off of Heaven's Gate.

For if the love within it's strong enough
We may yet find a worthwhile pot of gold
To pay the ransom, free the fold, although
Regardless of whichever faith we hold.

Though Christmas for non-Christians, is a test…
It is still a time to focus, and to wish you all the best.

That is saying something in an original way and yes, adulthood can sure be a buzz kill. As for Christmas, tis my favorite day, my favorite holiday, because so many people regardless of religion want to share joy, inject joy, and feel warmth toward their fellow man. It takes a lot out of us to do that for very long so February finds us snarling at each other instead.
