Mere Moments Poem by Laurel McIsaac

Mere Moments

The noise ceaseless ne'er declines
sears, yet beckons me
run, separate, mere moments…think!
sublime

Fear within the noise
screaming danger, sadness, pain
death…I can't go on…no, no,
joy

Infectious behavior
slamming around and twisting
beautiful innocence, love, honor, I do
savor

Moments out the window few
steam through copper, clenches, startles…then
bird play, wooded snow-scene…soundless
imbue

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem was written in the early morning as I looked out on a snow scene. Remembering the pain of the night before and how it affected us all.
