Mending Through Darkened Coldness Poem by James Darwin Smith II

Mending Through Darkened Coldness

Days growing shorter
No stars in sight
Just cloudy reminders
Of what once was
No more beams of warm light

Cold and dreary
Darkness engrosses with plight
Trees and plants hibernate in decay
Nature becomes hinder some and weary

This heart, mind and soul works hard
To dream dreams that strives to live
Within this imagination
Thriving to get out the strongest of this will

Perhaps, Nocturnal hasting skies can be bright
If this spirit can escape into own universe
Building, creating each musing
All for a better season ahead

Just words now
Not motivated enough
Shorter days destroy
The antiquity of nature's bright inspiration

Within, I must find a haven
A great peace of an enlightened epiphany
Finding warmth within a cold setting
Basking inside my own peaceful endeavour

Hope shall grow larger
Stars within sight
All dream filled reminders
Of what will be again
A bevy full of soothing beams of light

This imagination shall always set me free
Poetic art is the saver of my own life
A muse that shall take me to so many different places
Warmth, Always the best inspiration
All for every ounce of my own inner delight

Here I am
Mending through darkened coldness
Fighting within myself to keep staying warm and bright

Here I am
Striving for this poetic salvation
To take me into its light

Patience must be my dealing
Then all will be left to be right

And in the center of things where I live
My whole will always be as one
In seasonal blessing where I await the sun

Mending through Darkened Coldness
Through the inspiration of love itself
Here I am always willing to fight

Onward
Through the hasting of the night

Mending through Darkened Coldness
Warmth is within my sight

Warmth is surely within my sight!
