Memory Poem by Soul Searcher

Memory

I've seen death
And known pain
In my mind I'm still running
With you calling my name

Please hold me close
Just take it away
Don't leave me, please
Help me to forget that day

I've seen them scream
I've seen them cry
I've felt their fear
And the desire to die

You held me together
When I almost fell apart
You numbed away the pain
From my aching heart

A silent night
With stars so bright
Sitting next to me
You took away the fright

But as you went your way
And I mine
The world felt colder
Bitter, losing it's shine

All alone,
Crumpled up in a heap of pain
I cried until I slept
Whispering your name

Longing for your presence
Just to feel your touch
You are my comfort
The one I miss so much

Still sitting on that rock
Waiting for your return
Left behind my soul
Numbed by your concern

I really had no choice
I had to leave them too
Hanging onto what was left
Hanging onto you

Sitting in a meadow
Underneath a tree
My eyes are watching you
Walking towards me

You take the worst away
Help it leave my mind
You help me find the peace
That seems so hard to find

You held my face within your hands
And told me I could cry
You wiped away the tears that couldn't come
Left by a soul run dry
