Memory Poem by James Casey

Memory

You sent me away, why can't you see
You've only left me with a memory

Of how great things used to be
I wonder are you fine without me?

Do you still have a smile that makes his day?
Do you make his day when you smile that way?

Does your laugh make his heart skip a beat?
And make his whole being flush from the heat?

I can't believe he could love you more than I
You were my world, my sun, and my sky

For three decades now I've wondered why
You said no, and made me say goodbye
