Memories Of Us Poem by Natasha Dowdy

Memories Of Us

Rating: 3.0

I opened up our closet
Like I do every day
Nothing much had changed
Since you walked away
Our clothes still hung together
Right there side by side
The sleeve of my shirt
Hugged to yours without pride

I blinked back the tears
Shook away the memories
I pulled my shirt from the hanger
Tore it from yours with ease
I slipped it over my arms
Expecting your lingering touch
But it was as cold as your heart
I never thought I'd miss you so much
