Memories Of The Inner Child Poem by Jeff Wrubel

Memories Of The Inner Child

Remember
As a kid I'd sit in the grass
a breeze drifting my dreams
into the future
and my energy
outwardly expanding into
the freedom of sunlight

Plugged into the earth
The quiet distance
of an open field surrounds
and my worries
lost in that warm stillness
Then of the ground and centered
I bore witness to my harmony
with all that did exist

Interesting metaphorical exploration of the contrast between child and adulthood. Thanks for sharing Jeff.
