Melting Icing Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Melting Icing

disappointment like melted icing
on a meticulously crafted pastry
jabbing at my throat
like an incredulous tumor
attempts for sprinkling sunshine
fail and fall hard like a deflated pillow;
end these breaths with a single toss
into a velvet heart-shaped coffin
