Melody Poem by Riene Leanter

Melody

The room was so quiet,
my ears rung
I wished someone would start a riot
but still, was everything and everyone

I wandered around the room, like a ghost
and I'll never know what I was looking for
I saw a book called 'Coast to Coast'
just when I went to open it, I heard the door

It slowly opened and i heard
A beautiful melody, like a melody of a bird

The room filled with music,
and everyone just stared
They had never heard a melody like this,
and the guard stood up and glared

Everyone in the room stood up and danced
The melody had changed their lives forever
Why not get up and dance?

The melody was a sign of rebellion and glee
So everyone now knew, that they had been freed
