Me Poem by Ashley Campos

Me

17
Female
5'1
178 pounds
Hazel eyes
Brown hair
This is me.
I may not be skinny
I may not be tall
I may not be smart
I may not be pretty
I may not be athletic
I may not be perfect
This is me
I can dance
I can sing
I can draw
I can write poetry
I can love
I can act
This is me
I may not be 100 percent perfect
I may not look like the models
I may not be like the other girls
I may not look like the magazines
I may not be a size 00
I may not look like you
This is me

An anthem to the heroine's journey, to bring forth your Self, like the moon waxes on the backdrop of the great abyss. It seems to me you are trying to reconcile how strong you are, by weighing down the other side of the scale. I'd like to believe I have a good suggestion. I believe the book, The Hero With A Thousand Faces, by Joseph Campbell, can help you find some equilibrium upon your own quest.
