Maybe Tomorrow Poem by Gianfranco Aurilio

Maybe Tomorrow

I don't want to see anyone today.
Lock me up in a switched off lighthouse
in the middle of an ocean
and tell the waves
not to touch my rocks,
tell the stars
not to hang
above my head,
make sure that seagulls
don't fish in my waters
and that the moon
doesn't rise tonight.
I don't want to see anyone today.
I want to speak with the silence
and surround myself with the colours of darkness
and maybe tomorrow
I will miss the world again.
