Maya Poem by Mashe Others

Maya

I painted a reflection and I thought I saw,
You coming out to life and into my reality.
And all I ever wanted paraded before my eyes.
Nothing could have seemed more real,
It’s just the facts that’s stopping me.
But I didn’t dare to prove myself.
That my journey has not ended,
And be unhopeful I could ever wake you up
From an endless slumber.
Oh go away phantom,
I feel some sort of homesickness
Just looking at your face.
Spare me won’t you,
Go on your way I don’t need a ride.
My, how I love to watch you.
My thirst though wretchedly is quenched,
But don’t you pour on me.
My heart’s gone weak whilst searching.
I almost feel for you.
So please let’s keep our distance,
I don’t want to be holding you
When you fade away,
And be reminded of home no longer is,
And a voyage without destination.
This second morning,
I didn’t wake
On the day they say you came.
And if I see you, touch you,
Gone would be my ghost,
And I advance with or without you
