Masters Of War 2001 Poem by Hubert Ignatowicz

Masters Of War 2001

I was shocked
and petrified
I looked and felt the tears
flow my mind ‘atide’

I saw thousands trapped
in the cages of death
Blind ‘destrustors’ of life
had another word said

In the bliss of the day
On an early ride
Glorious Masters of War
blossoming with pride

And I hide the first fears
born within my soul
And my thinking’s not clear
and the future’s unsure

I spend hours and hours
watching pain on TV
People lost in confusion
No more safe no more free

They say the time
will wash all fear away
We will rise up from ruins
Pave a ‘nu clear’ way

Built the tower of Babel
that will reach the sky
And we’ll use our powers
Watch the innocent die

With our minds proud and craving
for the sweetest revenge
we will paint with their blood
one more scene for the stage

And we’ll prove to the others
that our behaviour’s apt
trying to bury in mud
all the crimes of the past

But those who thirst for truth
on hatred will not feed
They’ll overcome their anger
and all their basic needs

They’ll lay down all the weapons
‘Give Peace Another Chance’
And no more in their lives
Take up a warlike stance

And those who lost their sisters
will learn how to forgive
And on one peaceful planet
with murderers will they live
And Lord will come along and bless us all
And Lord will come along and bless us all
And Lord will come along and bless us all
And Lord will come along and bless us all…
