This is for Master Frank Yue
Hope you wont charge Yuan
For my little expose
I was never a member of any posse
Jeet kune doo was my religion
Your lesson takes me back to the region
My poem "Dont stop" is about me
When i used to martially free
I read a lot of similarities in your teachings
And philosophically my heart its reaching

I was at the University Gym in nineteen ninety
Frustrated exams just finished no minutes ninety
To practice my martial way
So i was doing splits on this day
A dojo teacher of Karate thought i was showing off
And challenged me in the gym to a square off
I said this was not the place and time
It was dangerous with weights mirrors so fine
So we agreed to meet at a gumtree lot
Just the two of us we agreed on a slot

On the day the match up happened
My adversary pranced around heartened
I was in a shallow stance watching him
He threw punches and kicks like a drill
I used my right foot to block everything
He got a few minor bruises from my foot blocking everywhere
Then he stopped and said i was scoring because i was attacking
I did not say anything or what he was lacking
I got into a deeper stance and everything for me became one
In my mind my adversary was already done

I moved with a thrust side kick and he fell metres away
He was out of breath and tears in his eyes nothing to say
I helped him to his feet and we left the place
Not a word said about sparring in my face
Your martial arts guide brings back memories
Of a journey few ever enjoy.in their territories
Though i no longer practice the martial way
The philosophy is permanently with me to stay
For "the beginning and the end is the same, the way without a way"
I hope your martial way will bring peace and love to all every day
