Masquerade Poem by Gabe Florsheim

Masquerade

Rating: 2.6

We were one.

We were unified and obsolete. I was open and free. I was myself.
I finally touched another heart but the greetings were shifty.

Because tonight I hide.

Before you would come to me for answers.
Today, I ask the questions.

Am I really unique?

Am I just another boy with an open outlook on love?

As I walk through the rain I hear your voice from the day our lips first touched

The day our hearts first touched.

Am I more than another one?

We were one.
