Marine One



Number one son
Courageous and strong
Off to college
Tuskegee no doubt
War is brewing
Volunteer for service
Shipped to Nam.

Candles on lawn
Community in prayer
All on knees
Even the trees
Asking for care.

Wisdom and understanding
Binds collective faith
Reaching the hero
In foreign place
Giving him strength
To perform duty
And with honor
Marine one rises.
