Mama

Rating: 5.0

I love you mama
You've been so good to me
But I'm older now and theres
An older man I wanna be.
I'm not a kid anymore no matter
How much you think or want me to be
You've gotta accept the fact
I can only be me.
Mama I know you bring you heartache
and I'm sorry for the things I do but
there's things you've done too that
make me unhappy just as much as you
You've taken other into your heart and shun me
away and I get the feeling that you only want me
Here just aslong as I pay. I can't help the fact that
I wanna leave mama and put you behind me it's
only cause we've both changed since in the last
few years and we can't accept eachother for who
we wanna be. Our attitudes clash and we fight
About everything. I remember when I was young
It was nothing but smiles and all we did was sing.
But time has passed and years have gone by and
We've both had heartache in our lives. I know your
my Mom but if I wanna life I'm gonna have to cut
The ties. I wish we could turn back to a simpler time
when certain people hadn't came around. it was just
Me and you and I was a few less pounds. But I get
The feeling you'll be happier when I'm not around.
I know it took grandma to talk you into letting me
Stay here again. Now you probably wished you'd said
'NO' cause I get under your skin. I get on your nerves
And make you mad. Whenever I'm gone you probably
Won't even shed a tear, The last thing you'll be is sad.
So heres to you mama the woman who made me what
I was 15 years ago and from there everything else went
Down hill. But I'm a man of my own now and I'll have my
Own life if it be GOD'S will.
