Making Memories Poem by Th3 Craft3r

Making Memories

Back when we were young,
On our mother’s side we clung
Afraid and shy to the world
And never uttered a word

I was four and you were three,
And used to share cups of sundae!
Some iced cream on a cone,
While we’re walking back home…

You loved chasing butterflies,
And I always like to make you cry
We often ended up in blows
Then friends again on the morrow…

We enjoyed climbing some trees,
And eating apples and cherries…
We were so young and so free,
And on our minds we had no worry.

We loved playing in the rain
And teasing each other, we couldn’t refrain.
In the end you ended up crying again
So I say sorry and I was forgiven…

And slowly as the years went by,
And soon I’ll be saying goodbye.
I was overwhelmed in such misery,
For I was leaving your warm company!

We pursued our dreams separately,
Hoping to be together again someday!
Holding on to the promise we made,
While on the green grass we laid.

Then you were like a rose that bloomed,
Pure and fresh in the spring…
Like a duckling that turned to swan
And was loved by everyone…

You finally turned to a lady.
And I sent you a gift on your birthday!
Hoping that I could deliver it personally,
But we were apart by the sundering seas.

Then the only refuge to comfort me,
Was thinking of you and our memory…?
And I so longed to see your face,
Chasing butterflies under heaven’s grace.

I continued to live incompletely.
I’m missing my best friend maybe?
Someone that was so special to me,
And the one I think of everyday.

I’m wondering where you are
Could you still see me from afar?
Are you thinking of our memories too?
And that time I said, I loved you?

At night you haunted my dream,
Sitting by you in a field of green…
Making our promises together,
Which I’ve hold on to, forever…

And when chances came,
I was excited to see you again.
To look upon my best friend,
Of leaving I did not intend.

Then I was home at last
And didn’t want those moments to pass!
But you were not there…
And I couldn’t see you anywhere.

I’ve waited for many days,
Just to feel your embrace.
But then, you never came.
I wondered what happened.

Then I came across someone,
A lonely and beautiful woman;
Who was walking by the sea,
Clutching a picture of you and me!

And there at last, I found you
Under the sky that was so blue.
Beside the soaring waves,
While the sun slowly fades…

And it seemed so strange,
That your smile hasn’t changed.
And your hair, like the rippling sea,
And your eyes, shines like Milky Way.

I finally felt your warm embrace
And in such a romantic place…
As your tears steadily fall,
You’ve missed me after all…

Then we walked back home,
Sharing iced cream on a cone
Just like what we used to do
Back twenty years or so!

How beautiful you are!
Like some distant star,
That sparkles in my mind
And leaving our fates entwined.

And when the night was deep,
My feelings I couldn’t keep.
I kneeled in front of you
And said that I still love you…

So I took out a beautiful ring
And you were already crying.
“Will thou marry me my lady? ”
I asked with such certainty.

And for a moment you’re speechless
And began to make some excuses…
But then in the end there’s the “Yes”
Right after we shared our very first kiss.
